YELLOW BALL REPORT FROM MIKE HEALEY FEBRUARY 29TH 2024
I am starting hesitantly by saying the weather might have changed. We certainly had no rain and although the temperature gauge was one short of double figures, a round yellow object appeared, from time to time, amongst the clouds. 36 seniors placed their tallies in the bag for a Yellow Ball competition and 9 x fourballs set off to the tees. There was some discussion regarding further openings of the remaining five holes but it is obvious where the problem lies when they are inspected thoroughly. 13 holes was enough to satisfy our competitive edge and the challenge was on. Pressure was experienced by all yellow ball holders, some more than others but overall, an enjoyable morning's golf. Three teams carded 115 points but alas only one of them was eligible for a prize due to count back. Read on for winning three teams:
Yellow Ball Result:
First: Dave Mole Jones, Chris Blazdell, Damien Atkin and Peter Taylor - 137 points
Second: Alan Pocklington, Graham Bryne, Steve Graham and Peter Lord - 123 points
Third: Stuart Miles, Alan Bottomley, Bob Jarvis and Dave A Jones - 115 points (c/b)
