Played a singles with Nigel Davies May 18th 2018

We were on the par 3 12th hole when a duckling of sorts came waddling through from the 13th. Came close to me and was chirping away. Thought he must of come from the pond area.

We played the hole out and he was still close by. Definitely lost and stressed.

I managed to throw a towel over him and put him in one of my golf bag pockets for safety and left it open enough for air but secure.

Played on till the 17th where l thought tbe Mallard were. Not there but Canadian geese were and it seemed one lost chick reunited with family and mum.

Seniors Match Thursday May 17th vs Old Padeswood and kitty competition for thos not in the match

The  match played today at Clays.  Day enjoyed by all taking part with a  5-4 win for O.P. Course condition improving all the time, excellent meal provided by Hayley, weather perfect! Thanks to Malcolm Williams for this report.

We held an Individual Stableford Comp. today with the 19 who didn't go to Priors Hayes; sunny day, no rain,greens quite tricky after treatment; results as follows:-

1st:- Martin Povey - 34pts

2nd:- Tony Jackson - 33pts

3rd:- Chris Jacques - 31pts

4th:- Paul Jeffs        - 30pts (on countback)

Team for match v Old Padeswood, Thursday,17th on Notice Board in Club.

Kitty competition May 3rd 2018

Today was originally scheduled to be a 9x2  9x3 but due to the green staff doing a lot of work on the greens today it was decided that the 43 players decide whatever format they wish to play in their respective teams. The winner in each group "takes the spoils" !!

43 Seniors competed. Although it was May 1st and mostly sunny there was a bitter cold wind!!
