WINTER LEAGUE FINAL RESULTS VIA MIKE HEALEY

Michael Healey Tue, 19 Mar at 19:15 Seniors - we did it and did it in style. Given the persistent inclement weather we have been experiencing, nobody thought we would get through 6 rounds of our Winter League this year but we have persevered, remained flexible on dates and lo and behold, today we completed the set. No fewer than 39 members turned out for the final round and there was even a hint of shirt sleeves towards the end. There was a definite feeling of spring around and we are all keeping our fingers crossed for our postponed St David's Day Trophy on Thursday. There was quite a bit of count back at the top as you will see. The final Winter League Table will be posted on the board Thursday but here are today's scores and winners. There were seven prizes in total as well as League points: Senior Winter League - Round 6 Results: First: Bob Jarvis 32 points (10 WL pts) Prize Second: Jon Falcus 30 points (9WL pts) Prize Third: Alan Barnsdale 29 points (8 WL pts) Prize Fourth: Stuart Miles 28 points (7 WL pts) Prize Fifth: George Hughes 26 points (c/b) (6 WL pts) Prize Sixth: Don Wraight 26 points (c/b) (5 WL pts) Prize Seventh: Barry Dare 26 points (c/b) (4 WL pts) Prize Eighth: Peter Taylor 26 points (c/b) (3 WL pts) Ninth: Wyn Jenkins 26 points (c/b) (2 WL pts) Tenth: Alan Bottomley 26 points (c/b) (1 WL pt) Bob Jarvis kept up the challenge with his scores, taking third place overall with 32 WL points. Our winner overall, had already made himself unassailable after 5 rounds but added more points today, achieving a total of 45 WL points. The winner of the Senior Winter League Trophy is Peter Taylor. Well done Peter.
