Putting competition February 27th 2020

The course was once again closed.

There as a  great turnout from the Seniors this morning - no fewer than 25 appeared for coffee and bacon baps. Several disappeared onto the driving range and fifteen members contested the putting competition. The putting itself was hot, with numerous single putts throughout the comp. The standard was set in the very first match when Mike Hollings beat Mike Healey on the sixth sudden death hole. Quite a few rounds went to sudden death before the semi-finals. Mike Hollings gave Don Wraight a run for his final place but Don saw it out. Mr Senior Captain - Barry Dare in the second semi set the early pace, only for Tony Harcombe to come back at him and Tony eventually pulled through to meet Don. Both the third place play off final and grand final were tight affairs with Tony taking the overall honours on the last hole:

First:      Tony Harcombe

Second:  Don Wraight

Third:      Barry Dare

Fourth:    Mike Hollings
