Clays Seniors Open 2017

Just a note to say thank you to everyone for supporting yesterday's
event. It was a very successful day and we have received many very
positive comments from visitors. We had 132 players yesterday including
a large number of visitors from 11 different clubs.
I particularly would like to thank a number of people, without whom
yesterday wouldn't have been so successful. Thanks to those people, led
by Cliff and Don, who helped out on the course in the run up to our
Open. The course looked really good and I know that it made a very good
impression on people. I would also like to thank members of the
committee on your behalf for all of the hard work that they contributed
in the planning and administration of the event, particularly Colin,
Steve and Don for their work over a number of hours at the registration
desks and also Fred, Cliff and Dave for checking cards and recording
scores. I would also like to thank Roy for his very valuable help on the
day with both registration and recording and a big thank you to Russ for
being such an excellent starter. I know that visitors were very
impressed by the way in which all of these people ran things. Although I
have already mentioned him, I must particularly thank Don for the huge
amount of work that he has done for our Open. Much of this was behind
the scenes but it has been absolutely invaluable.
I'm sure that yesterday will prove to have made a very positive
contribution to the next chapter of our club.
