Seniors Texas Scramble October 27th 2015

The kitty competition today played with teams of 3 and teams of 4. It was nice to see some of our "Florida colleagues" back form their 3 week break in the sunshine. So...watch this space and Don will provide Derek with photos and news about their vacation.

Anyway the results from today as follows:-

Teams of 3 winners were Nigel Davies, Alwyn Williams and Malcolm Williams with 65.0
Second were Ron Roberts, Dilly Jones and Ray Jones with 60.9

Teams of 4 winners were John Davies, Fred Court, Frank (always in the frame) Rodenhurst and Terry Jackson with 57.9
Second were Don Wraight (his holiday must have done him good!) Cliff Davies, Steve Monk and Derek Lyon with 60.6

Seniors 9x3 9x 2 October 22nd 2015

Todays results from the '9x3 + 9x2' kitty competition were:

1st: Ian Ketland, Irwin Elkin, Cliff Davies, and Harold Hughes with 100 points.

2nd: John Davis, Ray Jones, Peter Fraser and Bill Kelleher with 99 points.


3rd: Tony Owen, Mike Parks, Dilly Jones and Tony Harcombe with 98 points

Seniors Stableford Qualifier October 20th 2015

On a typical Autumn day some 51 members participated and some excellent scores were carded.
Results:-

3. Frank Rodenhurst 40 points

6. Tony Harcombe 37 points

Seniors Texas Scramble October 15th 2015

Quite a large number of Seniors turned out for this event which originally had been arranged as a Stableford Qualifier but due to on going course work was altered at the tally draw.
Some excellent scores were carded as follows:-

1. Phil Morris, Mike Goring, Barry Evans and Steve Monk     56.8    yes   56.8 !!

We are reliably informed that Barry was on form with his putting?!!


2. Neil Sanger, Dilly Jones, Andrew Mitchell and John Hughes    58.4

Yellow Ball Competition played over 17 holes October 13th 2015

Today was due to be an individual stableford qualifier but as the second hole was closed it was changed to a yellow ball competition over 17 holes.

Tuesday October 13^th Seniors Yellow Ball Competition – played over 17 holes. 2nd hole closed.

         1.  Bill Kelleher, Cliff Evans, Geoff Morris and Mike Drake  156p points

         2. Joe White, Fred Court, John Kelty and Maelor Davies  150 points

        3.    John Hughes, Steve Monk, Richard Key and Ron Roberts  145 points

48 players turned out to play a Pairs Stableford, with both scores counting.

1st: Mike Goring and Fred Court with 73 points

2nd: Dave Palferman and Malcolm Williams with 71 points

3rd: Neil Sanger and Dilly Jones with 70 points

4th: Maelor Davies and Tom Pierce with 65 points


5th: Roy Jordan and Tom McGrady with 63 points (on countback)

In the home match the Seniors team beat Upton Seniors by 6.5 matches to 3.5

September 29th 2015 Seniors Section Meeting with the Screening Engagement Team from Wrexham

This was kindly organised by Tom McGrady and resulted in a large amount of interest by the Seniors. 

Many thanks to all of those members that took the time out to listen to what Fatima Sayed had to say on Tuesday, I hope you all found it informative. To those of you who have not made the call yet I ask that you do it asap and don’t put it on the back burner, after all it is FREE.

During my chats with Fatima it became apparent that there are other FREE screening opportunities for the people of Wales and not just for aneurysms. I asked her to send me the details so that I can pass it round to you all.

Seniors Medal October 1st 2015 -Stableford

The results are published below. Worthy on note thought is the gross 3, nett 1 by Steve Monk on the 7th. Steve played a 3 wood and then creamed an 8 iron over 170 yards onto the green. He then sank his 10 putt. Well done Steve.
