Seniors Individual stableford April 30th 2015

Seniors individual stableford. Some 27 players with many more seniors playing various knock out competitions. The weather conditions were awful with heavy rain and high winds at times interspersed with periods of warm sunshine!!

The Seniors team played away at Aldersey Green and lost by 7 matches to 3 on Monday April 27th.

At home yet another large turnout of seniors to play on April 28th in sunny but very cold conditions. There was a cold wind blowing for most of the morning.

Results as follows:

1. Dave Palferman and Mike Drake  68points. Mike himself scored 35 points

2. Phil Morris and Eifion Jenkins  66 points with Phil scoring 40 points which considering the conditions was superb.

3. Don Wraight with wild card of Ian Ketland  64 points

Seniors kitty competition April 21st 9x2 9x3

Golf today played in superb conditions - wall-to-wall warm sunshine with no wind.

We played 9x2 + 9x3 and 45 players started playing in 3 x three balls and 9 x four balls.
Results:
Three ball winners were: Don Wraight, Roy Jordan, and Bob Brown with a total of 84 points.

Fourball winners were: Tom McGrady, Paul White, Joe White and Harold Hughes with a total of 103 points (58 on back 9).

2nd were: Eifion Jenkins, Frank Rodenhurst, Ian Ketland and Mike Kalka with 103 points (55 on back 9).


3rd were: Diane Dare, Elwyn Jones, Ralph Hardy and Cliff Evans with 97 points.

Seniors Individual Stableford plus match result April 14th 2015

Match at home today with Clays winning by 6 matches to 4 against Eastham Lodge.

In addition 29 players played in an Individual Stableford kitty comp before the match started. Results of the kitty comp were as follows (all listed won prizes).
1st: Mike Turner with 35 points.
2nd: Reg Taylor with 34 points (on count back - 19 back nine).
3rd: Bill Parrish with 34 points (18 back nine).
4th: Roy Jordan with 34 points (17 back nine).
5th: Rod Evans with 34 points (15 back nine).

6th: Ron Roberts with 32 points (also on count back from next player)

Seniors Yellow Ball April 9th 2015

Wonderful weather today with many of the lads in shorts!


52 players, playing Yellow Ball in 13 teams of 4 off 3 tees.

1st: Dilly Jones, Malcolm Williams, Reg Peacock, Don Wraight, with a score of 155 points.

2nd: Dennis Jones, Ron Roberts, Bill Parry, Bill Kelleher, with a score of 154 points.


3rd: Mike Drake, Cliff Davies, Keith Jones, David F Jones, with a score of 152 points.

Seniors 3 ball teams with best 2 scores to count plus away match results at Henlle

Despite 20 guys playing in the match at Henlle today, 33 others turned up at Clays for the kitty competition with format being 3-ball teams playing best 2 scores on each hole.
Results were:-

1st: Tony Owens; Eifion Jenkins and Don Wraight - 80 points


2nd: Bill Kelleher; Rodney Evans and Mike Turner - 74 points



3rd: Peter Lynch; Harold Hughes and Elwyn Jones - 73 points.

There was also glorious weather in the Henlle match The result of the match was a draw 5-5
An excellent day with the course in superb condition with very fast greens.
