SENIORS VETS TROPHY RESULT VIA MIKE HOLLINGS

Seniors - Your committee organisers were a little perturbed today. A July calendar has been removed from the Senior noticeboard, so initially, that might have caused a little confusion. The Senior/Vets Trophy has always been a board competition requiring sign up with ig. All kitty comps are printed in blue ink but still we had players rolling up expecting a draw from the tallyboard. Please read all notices and calendars. There were a few problems with entering of results in ig, which were sorted but we then had a number of players who scored Stableford and picked up on certain holes. It was printed on the top of the card as STROKEPLAY - please read all information. Having got my whinges out of the way - the golf was very pleasant indeed. 45 seniors were eventually entered into the competition to be met with a rather cool breeze early doors. After a very wet weekend, the greenstaff did very well to clear the bunkers and get everything else back on track for today's golf. The fairways and greens were both in great condition. The weather changed, with jackets being discarded in the sunshine and quite a number of good scores were returned at the end of the day. I believe four seniors slotted twos, all on the 5th hole in the ballsweep: They are Fred Court, George Hughes, Eric Thwaites and Ernie Williams. There are only ever two winners for this particular competition and they are: Winner of Clays Senior Trophy 2025 - Andy Mitchell with nett 62 and Winner of Clays Vets Trophy 2025 - Brian Beaton with nett 64. Well done both of you! Memo: All board competition and medal cards from now on MUST be placed into the Senior Black Box, which will be located in the foyer on the desk or in the bar upstairs afterwards. Thank you for your co-operation with this. Also a reminder that there is a red box in the kitchen behind reception for any donations you can give towards the raffle for our Senior Open competition on Thursday next week. Again - thank you in anticipation.
