INFORMATION ABOUT KEN LAWRENCE MEMORIAL TROPHY ON NOVEMBER 11TH 2025
Good morning Seniors, yes I did say good morning, as when we did arrive at the club this morning once getting through an accident, broken down car and road works outside JCB it was still pouring with rain. To cap it all the roadworks were caused by JCB having their power supply upgraded, which in turn meant there was no supply to the clubhouse so no consultation of even a coffee, Scottish Power had failed to provide the temporary power that was promised, Gemma was last seen giving some poor guy a ear bashing, poor guy did apologise to us for the slow progress in getting power on, not helped by Mitch telling him his mother said there would be days like this, I last saw the guy talking to his guys, and in time honoured tradition probably passing the ear bashing down the line. Mark also informed us that despite the best efforts of clearing the leaves the day before they had all come back and the greens were covered again. So still not let up in the rain most of us decided to wimp out and the prospect of tea and read of the paper looked more inviting, although as some more guys eventually appeared 8 hardy souls did venture out for a game amongst themselves, some deeming a good soaking was better than the prospect of being dragged shopping, hope the power is on when they get back to enable them to have a coffee.
Anyway, enough of my ramblings, an important item, next Tuesday, 11th November is the Ken Lawrence memorial trophy, an important day in our calendar. Can you please sign up on IG, it will be a normal tally draw, SO CAN YOU PLEASE ARRIVE BEFORE the 8.45 draw. Competition will be stableford 95% handicap of whichever tees the green staff tell us to use that day. It won't be a kitty com, just playing for the trophy and a bottle if we can find one in the back of the cupboard, BUT we ask for a donation to a worthy cause, The Royal British Legion poppy appeal, I will collect the money on the day. Thank you in advance.
Stuart.
