    Derek Lyon who had an ace on the 5th last Sunday almost had the same today with his tee shot coming to rest just 15 inches from the hole. Suffice it to say he had a 2!

Playing Sunday morning September 22nd with 9 lads form the Bromfield Pub Golfing Society I managed to "ace" the 5th. Apologies for club used but so what...I used a driver and 1st bounce into the hole...photos below..

September 14^th President’s Day

Clays President Irwin Elkin enjoyed his special day and was supported by a full field of Competitors and guests. Format was stableford full handicap off the white tees with a shot gun start at 8.45am. This meant that the presentation could occur at about 2pm in the club house. The winners were announced by Bob Brown with Irwin presenting the various winners with their respective prizes. Results as follows:-

Winner was James Pearson 39pts, second Kevin Scaife 39pts and 3^rd Tony Bull 39pts

Junior winner Jordan Pearson 40pts

Ladies winner Kim Harcombe 32pts

Visitor winner Colin Bain 30pts

Seniors winner Ron Roberts 38pts

The result of the match vs Holywell Seniors played on same day at Clays was a win for Clays Seniors by 6 matches to 4

Kitty Competition and Arscot Seniors Open Sept 5th 2013

On the same day a large number of Clays Seniors played at Arscot in a Seniors Open event - teams of 3 with best 2 scores to count - 3/4 handicap with maximum handicap of 24. Some photos of the day below.Weather was far better than another Open event there in the Spring when the wind blew and rain poured down resulting in many leaving the course! Not so today as the sun shone all day.

 

 

 

 

Below a video of Colin Brown, Seniors Captain playing or attempting to play out of a greenside bunker on the par 4 stroke index 1 hole. His ball was up against the bunker side so he decided to play out sideways or at least attempted to do so! His partners Derek Lyon and Stuart Miles played more carefully and avoided the bunkers and managed to get gross 5's!!
