JULY MEDAL 2025 REPORT FROM MIKE

Seniors - I am starting this report with a reminder that your Senior Open is not very far away now (in fact only two weeks). Brian and Chris have been working away behind the scenes to get everything sorted this year and so far, have made a very good job in advertising the 2025 competition. I believe we have over 100 entries, with more visitors than last year. You can still invite golfing colleagues at this stage and we would always accommodate them. A full house would be great. May I also remind you that it is also our biggest money spinner for the section, which includes a large raffle each year. Don always promises extragavant prizes like boats and trips to Bermuda. They occasionally appear and he does make money for us but he needs some lesser prizes to kick start his spiel, so if there is a bottle of wine or some chocolates in the cupboard that you can spare, they would be very much appreciated. There will be a large red box in the kitchen, behind reception, from next Tuesday for the collection of said items and I thank you all in anticipation of your generosity. July Medal - Today, what a glorious day weatherwise. Balls were running and the course played well. Scores were good from the 42 players who turned out today. There was only one player who scored a two on the second hole and Paul Wallace-Jones (our club Captain) will receive the entire contents of the ballsweep - well done Paul. As usual we are aligned in three divisions and in turn, the following names take the accolade for their scores: July Medal Winners: Division 1: 1st - Damian Atkin (Nett 64) 2nd - Angela Thomas-Williams (Nett 67) 3rd - Paul Wallace-Jones (Nett 68) Division 2: 1st - Lizzie Hart (Nett 65) 2nd - Chris Blazdell (Nett 68) 3rd - David A Jones (Nett 69) Division 3: 1st - Ian Ketland (Nett 70) 2nd - Leslie Williams (Nett 72) 3rd - Bob Jarvis (Nett 73 c/b) See you all next Tuesday for the Senior/Vets Trophy. Get your name into ig if you have not already entered. Mike
