SENIORS WALTZ COMPETITION FROM STUART MILES

Good afternoon Seniors. 26 seniors put their tallies up, smaller turn out than usual, maybe some were put off by the weather forecast or saving themselves for Thursday's Open. Today's competition was a Waltz, Numbers meant there were 5, 4 balls and 2, 3 balls who played with a ghost player. Once the rules on ghost players were sorted and the person who had a senior moment and forgot his battery was mobile again the comp commenced. There was rain but not as bad as the forecast had shown. A lot of cards were returned with scores in the low to mid 8o's but the winners were as follows. 1st with 89 points. Andy Mitchell, Alan Bottomley, John Maxted, Les Williams. 2nd with 88 points. Don Wraight, Chris Blazedell, Barry Evans, Ghost Player. See you all on Thursday for our Open. A message from our Captain thanking everyone who has contributed a prize for the raffle, but also can those who haven't contributed please think about donating a prize. This is our major source of income for the year and goes a long way to subsidizing our Christmas dinner, remember the copious amount of wine we seem to consume is funded in part by our Open. If you have a prize for the raffle, bring it on Thursday and pass it over when you're registering or give it to one of the committee members. Thank you and best of luck Thursday. Stuart.
