individual stableford result from Steve MONK

Here comes my second result of the day - I realised latterly that half of the committee at least were travelling to Hazel Grove today and made two phone calls to alert the senior members who were entering today's tally draw/kitty comp. Can I thank Steve Monk for stepping in last minute, conducting the draw, resolving the cards and sending the following report with results. In the absence of any committee members at Clays today, I was 'volunteered' to organise our kitty competition by the 24 members who were present. We opted to play an individual stableford, playing in 8 x 3-balls. We played in fine and warm weather and the leading scores were tightly grouped, requiring several countbacks to separate them. The leading 5 scorers who won prizes were.... 1st - John Kelty with 40 points 2nd - Colin Brown with 39 points 3rd - Peter Fraser with 38 points, on a back 9 countback ahead of 4th - Paul Cheetham, also with 38 points 5th - Dave A Jones with 36 points, on a back 6 countback from 2 other players also on 36.
