SENIORS MEDAL RESULT SEPTEMBER 2025 VIA MIKE HEALEY
Seniors - most of us came prepared for the worst of weather forecasts and probably drowned in sweat with all the wet gear. We experienced a couple of showers but nowhere near as bad as expected. For your information, poor Tony Vesty and John Maxted travelled down yesterday to LLandridod Wells for their Welsh Greensomes Final, practised on the very hilly course in extremely windy conditions and struggled (their words). After a good night's sleep (Captain's orders) they woke up to torrential rain, a flooded course and postponement of the competition indefinitely by Wales Golf. I believe we were the lucky ones! So who were the winners in the final summer medal? Firstly, twos were scored by Chris Blazdell on the 5th hole and Richard Collier on the 12th - well done both. The three divisions were won by the following senior members:
Division 1: 1st - Jon Falcus nett 67, 2nd - Dave Palferman nett 68 , 3rd - Reg Peacock nett 70
Division 2: 1st - Lizzie Hart nett 67 . 2nd - Mick Carnell nett 70 , 3rd - Dave Fergus nett 72
Division 3: 1st - Mike Drake nett 63 , 2nd - John Kelty nett 68 , 3rd - Steve Graham nett 71
Congratulations to the top three in each division and well done to all who took part today. From and administration point of view, Don had to go searching for cards at the end and 1 or 2 cards were placed in the old competition desk in the foyer. Reminder - all senior cards now go in the BLACK BOX marked SENIORS and it is normally in the bar area afterwards. If you can't find it, leave your card with somebody else or ask a member of the committee. Even more troubling is the fact that there were 3 cards missing (37 paid entries - only 34 cards). This affects the number in each division and leaves the Treasurer in a quandary as to how much is paid out for the winners. If you enter a medal - PLEASE make sure you enter scores in ig (34 did) and place your card in the black box (34 did). Next Stableford Medal - 2nd October
