HAZEL GROVE AM/AM RESULT

Today's Results - Brian has been quicker than me sending e-mails. I returned home (eventually after a lot of traffic) and promptly shot out to my regular Thursday night gathering - hence slightly delayed report. I am going to start with a massive thank you to Brian for booking today's golf. Hazel Grove was not the usual Pairs Betterball but in fact an Am/Am with the best two scores to count - an interesting change. The course (fairways and greens) were in very good condition despite four holes having preferred lies. Some of the fairways were long and their quirky lies and runs overall became a real test of our golf. Everybody enjoyed the course, hence Brian's e-mail. On arrival, bacon and sausages were already cooked and baps on order were served immediately (no delay or worries about first tee). The Senior organisers were friendly and relaxed about information, as well as the pro, who was keen to describe certain holes and how to play them. At the halfway house, three delightful lady members served complimentary, pre-ordered drinks and baked cakes - what's not to like? The longish par threes in the ballsweep for some proved too much of a test but one group in particular came home with two dozen balls between them - well done Alan Barnsdale and Mick McHugh for their twos. Brian will follow up with the final results from the club but our top scores were very much up there when we left. Result for our kitty comp: First: Chris Blazdell, Steve Graham, Malcolm Wiliams and Jon Falcus - 82 pts Second: Nigel Davies, Les Williams, Tom Pierce and Damian Atkin - 81 pts Third: Brian Beaton, Mike Drake, Dave Palferman and Richard Collier - 80 pts
