AM AM MATCH AT OLD PADESWOOD
Seniors - yet another report. It was my pleasure today to play alongside my colleagues in a very convivial Am/Am match at Old Padeswood. We have played team v team in the past but the decision was made to change the format and it worked very well. We have experienced it at other clubs and it is definitely one for the future. Sixteen of us travelled and I have to add my thanks to the latecomers who filled in latterly. We played in respective fourballs, ate a fine meal afterwards and results were announced. Your Captain and Chris Roseblade with partners shot a very respectable 90 points but were pipped at the post by Malcolm Williams and Tom Pierce plus partners who carded 91 points. The winning fourball picked up a bottle of wine each and further spot prizes were presented but alas none came by way of the Clays team. We all had a very pleasant day. My thanks again to Mal and Tom for their organisation and money collections. The next match is on Tuesday 22nd July at home against Hawarden. I believe the sheet is almost full but there are still one or two places left. There is not in house catering that day so after the golf, Mal has organised a meal at the Hotel Wrexham up the road.
