TEXAS SHAMBLE RESULT JULY 31ST 2025 FROM MIKE HEALEY
Seniors - Today we experienced perfect numbers for teams and following overnight rain, perfect timing with the weather. It is a pity that your Captain didn't experirence perfect golf (coming fifth with his team out of five x fourballs). 20 seniors placed their tallies on the board for a Texas Shamble and shamble it wasn't! All took the format seriously and there were quite a few positive comments regarding the way we played the game. (It will remain on the calendar in the future). The draw went smoothly and we followed two senior pairs semi-finals, who had booked early tees. Although overcast to start with, bouts of sunshine shone throughout and all teams came into the clubhouse in good time. There were two prizes overall:
Texas Shamble Result:
Winners: Peter Lord, Steve Williams, Mike Scott and Barry Evans (98 points)
Runners Up: Mick Carnell, Ken Burgoyne, Steve Monk and Peter Fraser (96 points)
Before the golf, we posted a sign-up sheet for the forthcoming (not quite) The Ryder Cup (Clays version) on 26th August. Several people signed up immediately but it was pointed out to committee that it is on the back of the August Bank Holiday weekend and many said they would be away. The sheet has been withdrawn, this date will now be reviewed and further details sent out. Apologies to those members who signed but a new sheet will be posted and ALL will have to sign-up (again in some cases). Also - a reminder from Brian that he would like a quick response regarding next year's Prenton Open - He is booking this Sunday. Thank you all.
Mike
