TEXAS SCRAMBLE REPORT FROM STUART MILES MAY 20TH 2025
Seniors, good afternoon, sorry for the late report a few jobs to do on the way home. Amazes me the number of seniors we have, 24 were away on an open competition, at least 6 I know are on holiday but 24 seniors still put their tallies up for the kitty comp. A quick discussion and Texas Scramble was agreed as today's format. Played yet again in glorious weather.
Result.
1st Ian Ketland, Bob Brown, Fred Court, Stewart Pool. 58.94.
2nd Gwynn Evans, Steve Graham, Barry Evans, Chris Jacques 60.0.
Just a couple of reminders. Thursday is an individual qualifier, names entered on IG please before you get to the first tee. Next Tuesday is the qualifier for The Welsh Greensomes, list is still up on the board but I will be taking it down after Thursday qualifier to do the draw. So anyone wishing to play can you get your name up or contact me. If you don't have a partner, put your name on the bottom of the sheet and we will try to get you a partner. Anyone wishing to play but not enter the competition can do so, as we are running a normal kitty comp the same day, so just turn up and we will add you to the end.
Just a quick note about the Devon Trip. As some of you know I have been organising the trip for the last 4 years, having taken over from Fred. Now I know it may seem a bit of advance notice as we haven't been on this year's trip yet, but numbers have been falling, for various reasons, we only have 14 this year and 4 of those are guests. So I'm asking if anyone is interested in next year's trip to please contact me. I will send a more detailed itinerary out next week with costs, but if you can start thinking about it I shall be grateful.
Thank

SENIORS GAME MAY 15TH REPORT FROM STUART MILES
Seniors, another glorious day, pray it lasts. A couple of housekeeping notes before today's results.
Tuesday 20th May, a lot of the seniors are away at an open. So I suggest that those of us who want to play turn up at the usual time and we will decide on the format depending on numbers.
Next Thursday 22nd May, is scheduled for an individual stableford, this is now a qualifier, so can you please sign up on IG, before you get to the first tee, thank you.
A week Tuesday 27th May is the Welsh Greensomes qualifier. A sign up sheet is on the seniors board, those who have not entered can you please put you and your partners name, together with the tally numbers, on the sheet. Those who don't have a partner but wish to play, put your name at the bottom of the sheet and we will do our best to get you a partner. Can you sign up please BY THURSDAY 22 of MAY, as I will take the list on Thursday to make the draw.
Today's comp, 30 seniors put their tallies up, a good number as some were playing matches in competitions and others on holiday or other commitments. Well I say 30, nice round number of 10 three balls, till someone after the draw was made and everyone was on the way to the tees, came up to me, no name, and said he had forgotten to put his tally up. Fortunately he agreed to mine and Steve Monks suggestion of tagging on to the last 3 ball and have his own game.
Today's Results.
1st Tony Vesty, Peter Thomas, Stuart MIles, 134 points.
2nd John Maxted, Tom McGrady, Eric Thwaites, 133 points.
3rd LesWilliams, John Kelty, Bob Jarvis, 131 points. A mention to Bob Jarvis who scored 10 points on one hole with the yellow ball, well done.
