REPORT ADDENDUM

Seniors - This report dovetails with Stuart's usual report on today's golf (Winter League Round 6 - Final Round). We have done well to get all six rounds in and more importantly, before the end of February. May I take this opportunity to thank Stuart for resolving all of the cards on each and every occasion. It is not easy on a normal day totting up scores but then to reverse figures for league points becomes very confusing and together with similar count- backs on reduced holes, is decidedly stressful. His tireless work has not gone unnoticed. Apologies for not having Round 5 printed out before today's final round and displayed on the board but the top three knew who they were and only these three competitors were in with a shout of winning. Following today's golf, we have scrutinised all of the previous results, checked with updated tables and we now have our annual winner in Paul Cheetham with a grand total of 28.5 points overall. Don Wraight was a worthy runner-up with 21 points and Ernie Williams with 19 points was just pipped into fourth place by Chris Roseblade making a late run and registering 20 points in third. Well done to those four seniors and indeed, the remaining 52 of you who took part in one or all of the rounds. The competition has been good and well contested throughout. Now we can look forward to the summer competitions and just pray that the course continues to dry out. Paul is not with us on Thursday of this week so the Winter League Trophy and bottle of whisky will be presented alongside the St David's Trophy plus prizes next Tuesday (4th March) at our Nearly St David's Day Competition. Finally, I am attaching the entire collection of result sheets across the rounds and the final table (Excel and PDF).

ROUND 5 OF WINTER LEAGUE RESULTS FROM STUART MILES

Seniors. Round 5 of the winter league, so far so good with the weather. 41 seniors put their tallies up for the penultimate round and despite a chilly start once the sun came out it was a pleasant day, warmer outside in the end than in the clubhouse. Can we have a wipe round for some oil please. Before the results, two messages, just to reiterate what Brian Beaton said about are open, please make the effort to sign up early, it looks better if we have a good full start sheet and as I said last week, think of the prizes that can be won and the wine at Christmas. Second point from Don Wraight, Nearly St Davids day, Tuesday 4th March, to help Don with the draw can we have entries in by Friday at the latest please. Entry is through IG, again prizes and trophy to be won. Thank you.
