Rule from Fred about Bogey competitions August 18th 2017

Derek will you post this Blog and I will also send out to members. Fred

18th August 2017 Information in support of notice posted by Don for Tuesday next.
A Bogey competition is a form of Strokeplay accepted for handicap purposes by the R&A.
The game is played as per Don’s description scoring as you would in Matchplay with a Win (plus); Halve or Minus (loss) using your Stoke-allowance vs Par at each hole.
There is however one important point to raise and that is before you record a plus; half or minus against any hole, you shall record the gross score for that hole on the card.
Failure to record a gross score for any hole results in a card check to be impossible and a “No Return/disqualification” the consequence. Sheriff
