A large number of Clays Seniors played in the above pairs betterball event and 7 played in a kitty competition at home but no results for this are known.

At Shrewsbury the Clays members results are as follows:-

2. Tony Harcombe and Stewart Leyland  36 points

3rd equal as follows:- Steve Monk and Don Wraight, Ron Roberts and Tom McGrady, Ernie Williams and Peter Lynch 34 points each
