Seniors individual Stableford plus Away match VS Upton Seniors

The seniors team played Upton Seniors away but lost by 6.5 matches to 3.5

Those not in the match played an individual stableford at home in awful windy conditions. Results as follows:-

3. Reg Taylor 33 points including a splendid Eagle 2 on the 13th. On count back

Seniors Kitty competition March 24th 9X2 9X3

With a morning comprising all the seasons a large turn out enjoyed their golf despite the Green Keeping staff having to hollow tyne and top dress  all the greens which made putting at times a little tricky to say the least. At least all their hard work will improve the greens in the coming weeks. Many thanks to them. We had sunshine, rain, hail and snow today!

Seniors Betterball Pairs March 19th 2015

Quite a large number of Seniors competed in this kitty competition. Players started off 1st, 16th and 14th tees. Initially weather was somewhat misty/foggy but this cleared to give brilliant sunshine with temperatures of about 14C

Results as follows, many of which were excellent

1. Irwin Elkin and Joe White  49...yes 49 points

2. Ernie Williams and Roy Jordan 45 points

3. Harold Hughes and Keith Jones 44 points on count back (25 back 9)

4. Ralph Hardy and Barry Dare 44 points count back (22 back 9)

5. Andrew Mitchell and Ray Jones 44points (21 points back 9)

St. Patricks Day March 17th 2015

Despite a grey morning quite a large number of Seniors turned out for this annual event. Format was a tally draw off the yellow tees. Teams of 4 with best 3 scores to count towards team prizes and best overall individual score being allocated for the Ray Mortell Trophy.

Team prizes:-

1st. Tony Jackson, Graham Davidson Clark, Reg Peacock and Dilly Jones  122 points

2nd. Nigel Davies, Noel Jones, Don Wraight and Harold Hughes  119 points on count back back 9

3rd. Andrew Mitchell, Graham Stokes, Tom McGrady and Neil Sanger  119 points

The Ray Mortell Trophy was won by the very much in form Andrew Mitchell with 39 points on count back, back 6 from Irwin Elkin again on 39 points with Alwyn Williams 3rd with 38 points.

There was only one player with a 2 namely Graham Davidson Clarke.

The overall winner of the Winter League is Andrew Mitchell with runner up being Peter Lynch. In 3^rd place was Eifion Jenkins and 4^th Nigel Davies. Joint 5^th were Mike Goring and Frank Rodenhurst.
