On Saturday September 3rd Tony Harcombe held his Presidents day at Clays. Over 90 competitors (including County President Wyn Mostyn) took part in his Presidents Day competition with some fine individual performances being recorded.
One of the day’s highlights was a hole in one at the twelfth by Andy Matthews
Nearest the pin prizes on the fifth were taken by Kim Harcombe and Mike Evans. Straightest drives on the tenth were recorded by Shirley Roberts and Derek Roberts (Llangollen).
Best junior performance, with 40 points, was Jack Cade (23). Seniors prize was taken by Dilly Jones (18) with 38 points with Wyn Williams (19) taking the seniors second prize with 37 points.
Winners of the mens prize was Dave Wright (5) with 41 points on countback from Robert Edge (12) with Paul Jeffs (12) third on 39 points.
Ladies prize and best overall score of the day was taken by Shirley Roberts (36) with a fantastic 43 points.
