Seniors Nearly St Patricks Day on March 15th
Format was teams of 4. Combined total of stableford Scores. The event also incorporated the Ray Mortell Trophy for the best individual winner
1. Stuart Poole, Keith Jones, Colin Brown and Bill Kelleher 141pts
2. Reg Taylor, Bill Hughes, Erwin Elkin and Frank Carroll 136pts
3. Bob Shotton, Mike Drake, Tom McGrady 133pts
Winners of 2’s were Noel Jones, Tony Harcombe, Rod Evans, Les Shoemark and Phil Hughes
Rod Evans also won nearest the pin on the 5th hole. Ball was 5 foot from the pin
Winner of the Ray Mortell Trophy was Ron Pearson with 39pts
On the 8th hole Billy Duncan emulated Bernard Langer by playing his ball from a tree. The ball came to be found supported in a fir tree. Bill being the good guy that he is asked all around for a ruling. Answer was "play it as it lies". He did so and hit a rather good shot out and finished with a very creditable 5

On the same day the Seniors team played Mold away. Result was a win for Mold by 5.5 matches to 4.5. Better results at return fixture perhaps?
